Calamosche beach is located before the oasis of Vendicari The main entrance is southbound on the SP19 in the direction of Pachino, 11.40 kilometers before, coming from Noto. You can find the exact spot in our map below or downloading the Elorodistrict App.
In 2005 Calamosche was awarded with the Blue Guide of Legambiente title of “Most beautiful beach in Italy”.
A beach in a protected area, surrounded by the Sicilian Nature with Mediterranean “Macchia” vegetation: mastic trees, wild thyme, agave, herbs etc .. The Vendicari nature reserve offers shelter with its marshes to thousands of protected animal species creating an authentic backdrop, the same for millennia. You have to go on foot, the small beach is located between two rocky headlands, the sea here is always calm.
Fishing is not permitted nor any other recreational activities, the beach here is not equipped with facilties for bathers eg; external shower, but the charm of Calamosche beach can be enjoyed as a wild place without compromise.
Calamosche beach is certainly one of the most fascinating districts of Eloro that can be visited. The beach is crowded during the month of August but being very large, can give enough space for all, even during the busiest days. The service of the Corpo Forestale ensures control. It is not crowed for the rest of the year
