Carrubella is one of several paths that lead to the small lakes created by the river Cassibile. You an get to the path along the SP4 coming over Avola Antica and the main entrance to the lakes of Cavagrande. Heading in the direction of Palazzolo Acreide after a few km you will find the path known as Via Madonna of Lourdes. After passing a farm, you can park outside, you will find a shed with the layout of the reserve path. The trail winds its way right down to the river passing through picturesque landscapes in the shade, mostly of oaks, willows, hawthorns, wild pear trees, oleander, oriental plane trees and a dense and lush riparian vegetation.
After 15-20-25 minutes walk, you arrive at a crossroads: on the right begins the long exit out of the canyon but we will go to the left toward a source and the ” Uruvu tunnu “. Uruvu dialect means precisely a small lake, while Tunnu means precisely round shape of this lake.
